Filling cabinets

The internal filling of the cabinet is distinguished by convenient models of such furniture from uncomfortable, functional ones from useless ones. Filling is not limited to a bar with a hanger, there is still a lot of all sorts of details that are worth discussing in more detail.

Special features

The internal filling of the cabinet - this is what it is, in fact, purchased. Proper design of such an important aspect allows you to make the closet comfortable and roomy, allowing the best way to place all the things there.

Even the largest cabinets are often not large enough due to poorly designed interior space. Equipment must be made "on all fronts", starting with the shelves and ending with an area with a coat rack. It is necessary to take into account everything: the type of doors and their location, the width and depth of the cabinet itself, the functions that it should perform. Focusing on all these aspects, it will turn out to create a truly useful design.

Needless to say that cabinet size plays a big role. However, in a very limited space, you can fit all the necessary compartments, so that you do not need to purchase an additional wardrobe. The restriction applies only to wardrobes, since due to the presence of "dead zones" at the door joints, their design is more difficult.

You can buy ready-made designs, and you can customize the cabinet. Then the question of internal content will be completely left to you. When designing a large closet, you should not focus only on immediate needs. Often experienced designers make the model “for growth”, having additional compartments in it, which the owners do not need for the time being, but in a couple of years they may need it.

In any case, on all matters of filling the cabinet should consult the company that this cabinet will make you. They will tell you which compartments are best swapped, what can be added, what is better to give up.

Such advice is completely free on condition that the model is ordered, so you won't lose anything.

Shelves

Filling the cabinet is rarely left without such an important detail as the shelves.They are made of various materials: laminated chipboard, plastic, aluminum. On each type it is worth staying a bit more detailed.

Standard plug-in shelves are made of the same material as the cabinet body - chipboard. They are durable and can withstand the weight of fairly bulky items, such as books, unused equipment and so on. Sometimes the shelves need to be divided to get a completely new compartment - a sliding tie-bar. LDSP is perfect for the role of a separator.

Soft plastic shelves are used for light items or shoes. They are made transparent. Such models look good in modern cabinets, where the emphasis is placed on the futuristic design. Plastic is largely losing chipboard, it usually does not serve for a long time, and therefore this choice often disappoints the owners.

Aluminum grilles are mainly used in the lower chiffonier area. They are installed under the shoes and are located at a slight angle so that the shoes are better visible. These shoes can not be fixed close to each other or to the floor, because under them quickly accumulates dirt. It must be cleaned out of the closet in time, otherwise it runs the risk of scattering over the whole structure and settling on things.

Thus, depending on the wishes, you can choose for the shelves any of these materials. The best of these is chipboard because of its durability and ability to withstand a lot of weight. Moreover, such options will fit to the cabinet body exactly. Please note that the distance between the shelves should be 25-40 cm depending on the planned storage items: for clothes there is a greater distance, for books - less.

Drawers

For the installation of drawers suitable middle cabinet area, since it is here the easiest to open and close them. The top drawer is usually placed under the lower shelves for books, install 3-5 boxes vertically. The pull-out structures on the lower tier are made wider and resemble chest drawers. It is convenient to store bed linen, blankets and similar bulky items in them.

In small boxes they store mostly small things that are usually hidden from prying eyes: socks, handkerchiefs, tights, underwear, and so on.

In some cases, boxes are used to store documents or as a home first aid kit. Drawers allow you to protect items from dust.

The drawers vary considerably in the retractable design. In recent years, all models make it so that they do not fall out. The cheapest boxes can only open up to the middle, models are more expensive - until the very end, but they still keep well in the slots and do not get completely. Some drawers are equipped with an automatic closer that allows them to close completely and silently.

In the case of swinging cabinets, the question of installing drawers is not as acute as in wardrobes. Here, in some cases, the boxes can stand in the "dead zone" and not open at all. To avoid this, experienced designers advise to plan the installation at the very edges of the cabinet so that the drawers can be opened precisely and they do not fall into the joints of the doors.

When choosing boxes, pay attention to the accessories. The handles of the structure must be recessed inside the box and practically not protrude beyond its plane. So there is an opportunity to “kill two birds with one stone”: first, flat models are less susceptible to breakage, and secondly, the risk that the handles will interfere when opening and closing the cabinet will practically disappear.

Baskets

Plastic baskets are very similar to drawers, with the exception of some differences. Baskets are often made of perforated plastic so that all their contents are well ventilated.At the same time, the advantage and disadvantage is their transparency: the contents of the basket can be seen in full view.

Roll-out baskets made of plastic, as well as drawers, provide a closer for a smoother and softer closure. This design is the most traditional, but not the only one.

Recently, metal hanging baskets that are attached to the shelf have become widespread. They have one wall missing for 2/3 of the wall through which you can get everything you need so that there is no question of how to pull out the basket itself.

There are also suspended versions of fabric on a wire frame, attached to the rod in deep and large sections with top or hanging clothing. Various little things like socks or children's toys can be added to the baskets. Fabric baskets are quite durable. They are made of translucent mesh synthetic fabric, so you need to be careful: the clothes in them and near them electrified.

Wide vykatny metal baskets can be met rather seldom. They basically act as alternatives to regular clothing shelves. They can be placed often, because of what in the closet it turns out to save a lot of space.This solution is ideal for small cabinets in which it is planned to store only clothes, as baskets allow laundry to breathe, while leaving things in plain sight.

If you often sin by forgetting about the presence of any clothes in your wardrobe, such a development will solve this problem.

Designs

Most often cabinets are divided according to the design of the doors into hinged, coupe or combined, which simultaneously have both types of doors. However, this phenomenon is not the only one. There is also a folding door, usually used to design curved structures. It, unlike the compartment, is well suited for convex corner cabinets.

By the number of doors, cabinets are divided into single and multiple doors. As a rule, the quantity also depends on the historical component, and not only on the size of the chiffonier itself. For example, for the 5-door Italian era, the Renaissance is fundamental, and for the 2-door carved - the Middle Ages. In theory, the number of doors is not limited, but in practice most often there are 3-door coupe models or 2-door swing.

By material manufacturing doors are divided into the following.

  • Glass;
  • Mirror;
  • From furniture boards;
  • Wooden;
  • From chipboard.

As a rule, the choice of a material is designed to either emphasize the contents of the cabinet, or completely close it from prying eyes. Some materials perform an additional function (for example, a mirror), and a number of them carry an additional aesthetic load. For example, very often glass doors are equipped with photo printing, putting a large photographic composition in color on the cabinet.

As the decoration material, chrome aluminum is commonly used, since it looks unobtrusive and stylish. The glossy finish quickly peels off, making the entire cabinet look unattractive and not aesthetic. Chromium-plated aluminum is used to make rods or hooks on which hangers, fabric hanging baskets, and clothing can be hung for special loops.

Finally, cabinets are divided into straight and angular. In the second case, it is rather difficult to find a decent design, since there are hard-to-reach areas in the corner structures.

It is best to take them under clothes that are worn rarely, for example, ceremonial dress.

How to fix?

Before you start assembling furniture, be sure to check whether all the accessories are in place. To fix the shelves must have the following details:

  • The regiment itself;
  • Self-tapping screws or screws;
  • Fasteners - 2-4 pieces depending on the size.

Before you decide how to fix the withdrawable box or basket, you need to understand what these items hold in the cabinet model you purchased. The holder-guide may be of the following form:

  • Roller;
  • Ball;
  • Metabox;
  • Tandem;
  • Tandembox;
  • Legrabox.

Each of the listed structures has its own rules, how to install the guide itself and the box.

The basket is fastened inside the cabinet in several ways: either on the rails, like the drawer, or the basket is fixed on the shelf, or it is hung from a hook or bar. The second and third methods are good because it is not necessary to plan the availability of baskets. In case urgently needed additional space, hanging baskets will instantly come to the rescue.

In general, methods of fasteners due to the overall design of the cabinet. All details are described in detail in the assembly instructions. There is no possibility to consider absolutely all the ways by which the filling is fixed in the cabinet, since there are as many models of cabinets as there are ways of mounting shelves, drawers, baskets.

More detailed instructions on replacing the telescopic rails in the cabinet can be seen in the following video.

Dimensions

There are different dimensions of the cabinets. To calculate what you need a closet, you need to rely on several features.

The standard chiffonier depth is 60 cm, but there are models and a depth of 90 cmSuitable for installing booms across the department. It often happens that the width of the section is insufficient for the installation of the rod parallel to the back wall, then transverse samples come to the rescue.

High and low systems also vary. For example, if the height of the chiffonier is 3 meters or more, it is best to replace conventional bars with a retractable design - a pantograph. The pantograph is controlled by a special handle, which can be attached to the cabinet doors at the request of the owner. This will allow to lower the barbell simultaneously with the door opening without additional efforts from the owner.

The optimum height of the shelves is 30 cm. This distance is enough to store books or clothes. The mezzanine is made wider: 40-60 cm. It is customary to store large-sized items, for example, suitcases or winter blankets, therefore, the size must be appropriate.

How to organize the space?

Below are the ideas of storing things in the closet. All examples are supplemented with brief comments explaining the validity of the presence of a particular filling detail.

Such a minimalistic layout allows you to place very few items, but the care of such a cabinet is very simple.

If the wardrobe is planned only as a dressing room, the method of arranging the shelves and drawers is perfectly acceptable due to the presence of all the necessary compartments.

Such cabinet filling is more functional than the previous one due to the presence of additional compartments: shoes, skirts and the like. Please note that the owners of this design used not only drawers, but also ordinary boxes. They come to the rescue when the existing boxes are not enough. Boxes do not take up much space on the shelves; they can be made in various dimensions and shapes.

Pick up the filler for a corner cabinet is always difficult, as the design of the corner element is difficult. The best choice is to place the bar elements for hanging clothes there. As you can see, here we used three rods, reinforced with a transverse element.Two of them are used for hanging shirts, T-shirts and similar short things, and one will be used for long clothes.

This design differs from the previous ones in a number of advantages. First of all, this closet is larger, there are mezzanines in it to accommodate items that are rarely used, and shelves for shoes. Secondly, the presence of illumination for such large wardrobe is a prerequisite. Thirdly, sliding doors “accordions” save space and deprive the cabinet of additional drawbacks, such as “dead zones” in the case of a coupe or the need to have about 60 cm of open space in front of the cabinet for opening hinged doors.

Until now, filling the closet with baskets is a rather unusual way of planning space. As you can see, baskets can be both small and large. At this the use of wire structures is not over. A spinning multi-tiered shoebox, which is additionally used to store other household items, immediately catches the eye. In the closet there is a tie and a bristle piece, making the placement of garments more convenient.
