Access to interior doors

Installing doors, especially interior doors, is not a super-complex task, however, it implies a number of specific actions, due to which the door will function perfectly and look aesthetically pleasing. It often happens that when installing an interior door, ordinary or for a pencil case, an additional board is used. What it is and what it is intended for, we will consider in this article.

What it is?

The installation process of the interior door includes several steps:

  • collecting the box or frame in which the door will function;
  • placing and fixing the box in the doorway;
  • preparation of the door leaf, installation of accessories;
  • installation of a cloth in a box, adjustment and adjustment;
  • trim door frames.

Dobornik on interior doors - it is a decorative element that is a box expanderif it does not match the width of the opening.He seems to continue the door frame, creating a single and seamless structure. Essentially, it is a 90-degree slope made of rectangular slats and a casing consisting of solid materials.

What do they look like?

Finishing strips have a large range of color options. In most cases, they are made of the same material as the door frame with the door. Therefore, it is more profitable to purchase additional panels together with the door and box from one manufacturer or firm. When assembled, the dobor are U-shaped.

Fabrics dobori made of wood chip materials may be with a protective edge, or their ends remain untreated. Also on the edge can be made a groove on one side, and on the other - a spike. Such dobora represent a type of wall paneling. Telescopic boxes are equipped with such fittings.

Why do we need?

Dobor on the interior doors hide all defects of the opening, protect against mechanical effects, serve as an additional box reinforcement, as well as an important decoration of the door.

The standard dimensions for the width of the door frame are 80 cm and 100 cm.If the width of the doorway is larger than these dimensions, then during installation there is free space that needs to be improved. You can, of course, order a box of any width, corresponding to the size of the doorway, but the work made to order increases the cost of the product being purchased in comparison with the standard order. And even more so when the door is made of rare wood.

It is for that to close this free space and save on material, and we need such an element as dobori. They serve to create your own design, make it possible to embody your imagination with the selection of material, color, style and shape.

The aesthetics of the whole interior depends on a carefully made door slope.

What are the types?

Types of dobor are different way of installation:

  • added;
  • underlay;
  • combined;
  • telescopic.

You can attach them to the door frame both before installation and after it, when the joint is securely installed. For mounting before installation, use either small screws, or glue.

The box with dobor can be fastened using thin metal plates.For example, with pieces of "crocodiles" (fasteners for fixing guides), used to install the frame for drywall.

Ways of collecting dobor on a box before installation:

  • To begin with, we assemble a box, gash guides at 90 or 45 degrees, larger than the width of the door leaf by 6 mm, for a working gap of 3 mm along the perimeter of the blade. If there is no quarter groove on the guides on the back side, it must first be made on a circular machine or using a milling cutter. To use a chisel for this work is time consuming and requires professionalism to achieve the desired quality. The width of the quarter is chosen corresponding to the width of the dobor, and the depth is about a centimeter.
  • Cut off the selected dobor to the width required to close the opening together with the box. Cut along the length of the vertical and horizontal strips so that the horizontal piece overlaps the vertical.
  • We make the formwork around the perimeter from the wrong side of the box from an even material, for example, from drywall. For what its strips of about the size, as the width of the prepared dobor, fasten with screws to the box.
  • Align the vertical parts of the door frame in relation to the floor at an angle of 90 degrees.
  • Apply glue into the groove (any wood or liquid nails), insert it, adjust it so that there are no gaps. From above, for the fortress, you can tighten the parts of the dobor with screws, be sure to drill the holes with a thin drill over the entire length of the screw, so that the canvas does not swell or crack. Then leave to dry. As soon as it dries, remove the formwork and mount the joint.

Can do without glue. In the same way prepare strips. On the back side of the box, where the quarter is located, the plates are screwed, additional holes are inserted and fastened with short screws.

If there is no groove, you can cut the panel of the selected material width corresponding to the width of the overlapped opening. Assemble the dob from the dobor and insert the door jamb inside. This can be done only if the door is thin, or it allows the distance for mounting the entire structure as an assembly, and the casing is wide enough to cover the assembly seam.

Ways of installing dobora on a mounted box is used when there is already installed a jamb with a door, and the box has a quarter for dobor.

Method one:

  • Free this area from the foam and carefully clean it.
  • With the help of a tape measure and a corner measure the distance from the groove in a quarter to the end of the opening, in several places around the perimeter.
  • Cut off on length and width of preparation. They are inserted into the groove, and in this place they are supported by dobori in several places to the box, for example, bicycle-cycle or pieces of frozen foam, foam plastic. After that, they are wedged so that there are no cracks and dobory stood at 90 degrees relative to the plane of the door.
  • Construction foam is applied only to the part that is in the place of contact. After the foam hardens, you can process the entire slope. It is better to use for installation foam with a small coefficient of expansion. If there is no groove, then the canvas is pushed under the box, wedged and sealed.

The second method, which is used if there is no possibility to put a finish on the foam, and the thickness of the finish allows to drill through:

  • We make several holes in the dobor bar. There are three holes in the horizontal bar, and four holes in the vertical one. In the place of the holes, drill a larger diameter, we make indentations to drown the caps of the screws.
  • Using a tape measure and a corner, we measure the distance from the box to the edge of the opening. By the largest size, we cut the width of the dobor. A prerequisite: the dimensions in the place of joining of one plank with another, that is, in the corners, must be the same.
  • We cut out small rectangular blocks from the material at hand and slip them under the box in the places of fasteners. We drive the screws into the planks, apply them to the box, press them to the bars and pull them in with a screwdriver, making sure that there are no gaps in the joints. You can do this if the width of the dobor is no more than 20 cm. In the same way you can assemble the box before it is installed.

Method three:

  • A thin rake, such as a bead, with a size of not more than 10/10 mm around the perimeter, is nailed onto the box. If there are no slats, then at a distance of about 5 mm from the inner edge of the box, screw the screws along the perimeter or nails. Hats are cut off by the grinder, leaving the pins about an centimeter.
  • Dobory are prepared in the above manner, wedged and more spacers are added between the side dobors in the place where the nails were nailed and from the floor to the horizontal dobor.It is better to fix the holes with masking tape from one wall to another through the opening. And in the same way foamed.

The fourth method is the crate of an unclosed opening:

  • To do this, the bars are prepared not thicker than the gap between the opening and the box, or slightly thicker, but in this case, along the entire perimeter of the box, they draw a line at the same distance for the reference point. Length of any, just not cracked during installation. Width from box to edge of the opening.
  • To concrete and brick mounted on the dowels, applying the construction level and a corner. Dobora prepared in the same way. Attach to the bars on the liquid nails. After drying, it can be used for sound insulation.

Method Five:

  • It is possible to attach the dobors directly to the opening with liquid nails, if they cover the assembly seam with their thickness. For this glue is applied to the opening point. Take a bar meter - one and a half, put it to the slope and using a mallet level the plane. Fix masking tape to dry.
  • In order to attach the box to the box, you can use clamps. To do this, prepare the dobory in length and width, collect the box from them, apply liquid nails on the end, apply it to the joint, and tighten it with clamps before drying.

Telescopic

This kind of dobor is going as a constructor.It is desirable to use a trimming milling machine. Without it, it is quite difficult to make gaps under 45 degrees, using a simple block for this. Therefore, when assembling the box at 90 degrees, it is necessary to make sure that the slot for the fitting at the interface is solid. The dobor is inserted into it, having a thorn on the one hand, and on the other a groove into which the platband is inserted.

The depth of the groove is 15 mm, which makes it possible to "walk" in size in width when purchasing or fitting dobor and cashing. The steps for measuring, cutting and attaching are the same as for straight planks.

Their convenience lies in the fact that they easily come together and make it possible to cover any distance.

Combined

Combined types of dobornik are angular strips of fiberboard, MDF, PVC - they are both add and enclosed. Use this type of additional strips with insufficient overlap distance. Fasten mainly on liquid nails.

Dimensions

Standard sizes of dobor in the market:

  • thickness is 6-30 mm;
  • width 50 -250 mm;
  • length is 2100 mm.

The width of the telescopic panels 90, 120, 150 mm. The quarter on the box for dobor is most often 10/10 mm, therefore the thickness of the strip is selected 1 cm.

The required width of the slat is the width of the opening minus the width of the door frame, plus a quarter if there is one. Additional boards can be made by hand. Such an element of non-standard sizes can be made to order.

Forms

In most cases, the dobora have the shape of a flat panel. If necessary, you can make dobor in the form of an arch. Often for a decor add various accessories, for example, in the form of a stucco molding. It looks interesting slope in the form of a column.

Materials

Materials for dobora can be very different:

  • metal-reinforced sandwich panels;
  • wooden beam, solid or assembly-glued;
  • plates from MDF, is more rare from a chipboard, levels from DVP.

As a finish using glass, veneer, natural or artificial.

Also used plastic film, varnished or painted.

How to pick up?

The complementary board is selected according to the color or pattern suitable for the door. As a rule, it is the same material, everything is done monotonously and monolithically. But modern designers can sometimes experiment: emit platbands in darker tones or make the entire slope bright.

What to replace?

Unclosed space remaining free after installation can be plastered, then painted or glued wallpaper.But due to the intensity of use of the doorway, these places will become dirty or subjected to random mechanical stress. To avoid loss of appearance, you can put metal dobor.

Apply also drywall, wall panel, put tile, paste foam rubber and cover it with a cloth.
