Despite all the variety of curtain designs, the classic combination of a single air curtain and drapes does not lose its position. In order for the curtains to play in all their brilliance, you need to choose the right eaves. The double version allows you to attach not only heavy + light curtains, but also a double canvas of each of them.

Double-row cornices remain one of the most popular today. This is largely due to the fact that this option is devoid of many of the shortcomings inherent in the other models. Unlike single-row or three-row models, the double holder for curtains has an optimal width for decorative purposes and for cases when it is planned to hide under niche or curtains. There is a fairly large selection of double eaves. They are made of different materials and in different configurations.There are even models that have an additional second console, but if desired, it can be removed and the eaves will become single row.

Usually the holder for curtains comes with mounts and tips included, but you can assemble your own eaves instead of buying a standard kit. This model will be released a little more expensive, but it will definitely be exclusive. However, remember about moderation. Too fanciful cornice in the budget interior will seem inappropriate. The same can be said about the reverse cases where tenants decide to save only on window decoration.

There are several classifications of double-row consoles.

By material:

• Tree;
• Metal;
• Plastic.

At the place of installation:

• Wall mounted;
• Ceiling.

By type of construction:

• Round. Often selected for curtains with eyelets or rings as an attachment. Complemented by a small console. Curtain mini-cornice located closer to the window.
• Profile. The profile cornice is most often chosen due to its ability to visually increase the height of the ceilings.In the case of aluminum constructions a bracket is used, and the plastic tire is screwed with screws directly to the attachment point. The profile version is plastic, so flexible for a bay window or figured window is chosen from this category.
• Baguette. Consoles with a baguette bar look good in large, tall rooms. The slats are complemented by various patterns and textures, so that the baguette can be chosen for any interior.

By type of management:

• On manual control. Curtains are drawn and opened manually without any devices.
• On the cordo management. Management is carried out with the help of a cord - a chain or rope. It can be built in as a sliding mechanism, when the curtains symmetrically disperse in different directions, and one in which the curtains move only in the direction of the cord.
• With control through the remote control. The built-in electric drive allows you to move the curtains without the help of hands, only with the help of the remote control. There is a portable remote control, like a TV, or stationary, which is mounted in the wall.

Each of the materials from which the cornices are made has both advantages and disadvantages. For example, plastic models, despite their lightness and variety of colors, are not strong enough to withstand heavy curtains, however, for thin tulle plastic is an excellent choice. Wooden options are classic.

Metal models are very diverse. Forged round bars or aluminum profile version are excellent in their characteristics. They are durable, beautiful and have a huge price range, so you can choose a console for any wallet. However, such a design weighs decently, so that it is not suitable for mounting on fragile materials.

Different models have their own dimensional characteristics. They depend on the material and type of construction. Tubular models are equipped with rods, whose diameter ranges from 16 to 40 mm (wooden rods on order). The diameter of the mini-bars varies between 5 and 15 mm. For double-row models, the combination of the main rod 28 mm in diameter and 10-16 mm tulle is considered standard. The length of the rod varies between 2-4 meters, but 3 m is considered standard.

The width of plastic double-row tires usually does not exceed 8.7 cm, and the length is 4 m. The standard strip on them is 50 mm and 90 mm, but there are also options with blends, the width of which can reach 300 mm. Aluminum models are available with a standard diameter of 10 cm and a length of up to 6 m, which makes their installation possible on almost any window length. In case the length is not enough, you can always use the connecting elements.

Standard color of plastic cornice - white. The choice in favor of this shade is not accidental. When merging with the ceiling, it visually makes the room taller and more spacious, and also does not over-attract attention, allowing you to put a bright interesting focus on another detail. It is possible to use a coating in the form of a decorative adhesive tape with which a plastic tire is glued.The tape is quite likely to imitate various coatings: wood, leather and even metal. If you want to add some gloss to your interior, we advise you to think about such a decision as pasting the eaves with a decorative coating.

Fashion Iron Cornices do in different color variations. Depending on the style of the room choose a matte or glossy texture of the coating. So, chrome is suitable for modern interiors, and gloss - for classic traditional ones. Interesting finds in the form of copper, brass, bronze coatings make the room more attractive. You should not overlook the "aged" materials: blackened silver and gold, aged bronze with Zelentsa. The fashion for the coloring of wooden models has not changed much in recent years. Cherries and walnuts are still relevant, but besides this, new options worthy of attention have appeared: wenge, cork and other exotic textures.

Depending on the type of eaves, the method of assembly varies. First of all, you need to carefully study the instructions and check the presence of all the components that the plan should be included in the standard kit of your model.

Usually the standard build consists of the following parts:

• Brackets for fixing the console to a wall or ceiling. By themselves, the brackets are universal or power, depending on which curtain is used for the eaves.
• Directly double cornice console. It can be two bars, two profiles and so on. There are also combined types, for example, a round bar for heavy curtains and a profile guide for tulle.
• Mounts can be completely different: rings, magnets, clips. Recently, more and more often they refuse to equip the finished cornice with fasteners, since the fastening of curtains on the grommet or drawstring has become popular.
• Foot Plugs presented as functional unattractive details, as well as interesting options, for example, fleurons or decorative edges. Their main task is to limit the movement of fasteners only to the eaves plane, as well as to draw out the unattractive edges of the console.

Assembling the eaves is simple: they remove the trim, fasten the sliders or other attachments for curtains, depending on the model and fix it with plugs.In some cases, the cornice is attached to the brackets after their installation, but it happens that you first need to fix the cornice on the brackets, put on caps, and then carry out the installation of the structure. Such a pattern is typical for round eaves. By the way, in cases with tubular consoles, it is advised to take out the brackets by one ring-fastening: this way the curtain will be firmly fixed.

Double curtain rods, depending on the model, can be mounted on the ceiling or wall. The approach to fastening is the same. You should pay attention to what exactly the surface is mounted console: a monolith, drywall, stretch fabric. Gypsum plasterboard and stretch ceiling require reinforcement of the eaves mounting site even at the level of their installation, so if you have not taken care of this in advance, it is better to give up fixing in these places.

In order to properly mount the console, you need to do the following:

• Using a simple pencil and building level mark the place of the future fastening of the eaves. Try to align as much as possible the applied straight line with respect to the floor and the ceiling when wall mounting or the floor and wall with a window when ceiling mounted.
• Start marking with the center, noting the attachment points of the brackets. Depending on the length of the eaves, the number of supports is different, but usually the mounting step is 1-2 meters for the wall construction and 15-45 cm for the ceiling.
• Fix the plastic dowels in the holes and attach the brackets with self-tapping screws.
• Suspend the assembled cornice.

Double eaves can be used for fastening curtains of different textures, and the same. The photo shows how a two-row tubular cornice is combined with each of the options. It should be noted that this method of attachment opens up a large amount of space for experimentation. If you choose the right colors and textures so that the curtains and the console fit together, you can achieve an incredibly stylish effect.
