 Choosing a lint-free carpet

Currently, the carpet market is truly rich in the choice of models, and they all differ in the length of the pile. Lint-free models occupy a separate place among the variety of carpets, they appeared first. Handmade products are considered to be a special chic, although the price for them is appropriate. The most popular of them are products from Turkey, China, Tunisia. Lint-free carpets are now gaining increasing popularity. They are very practical and easy to use, inexpensive and presented in a wide range.

Varieties and features

The lint-free carpet is made by a special technology, in which the threads are intertwined in a checkerboard pattern. This allows you to make it two-sided, the pattern is repeated on both sides. After some time, such a carpet can be turned over and used as a new one.

There are several varieties of lint-free carpets:

  • Mat. For its manufacture using natural materials: cane, bamboo, jute, algae, sisal.
  • Sumac. This carpet is different in that it has a pattern on one side only. The most common countries of manufacture are Dagestan and Persia. Silk and wool are commonly used for weaving, and red and blue are dominant among the flowers.
  • Kilim. Such items appeared in ancient Persia. For weaving then they took wool, flax, silk and cotton. Modern models in appearance as close as possible to those first carpets, but in the composition there are synthetic fibers that extend the service life: viscose, acrylic, nylon.
  • Palace This carpet is able to cover the largest floor area in the room. In terms of colors, ornaments and decorations, carpets are the most diverse. They are very practical to use: when cleaning or washing, they are not deformed and are able to withstand daily cleaning. Palaces on the floor are usually chosen for spacious rooms or for rooms with high traffic.
  • Shadda and Yamani. The distinctive feature of these carpets is that when weaving a pattern instead of two threads, they use three. Additional thread creates a special visual effect. As a pattern, camel caravans are usually depicted, and the prevailing colors are red, black or red, and blue.
  • Zili. Carpet manufacturing techniques are reminiscent of shadd weaving. The most popular manufacturing country is Azerbaijan. When weaving, preference is given to red.

Advantages and disadvantages

Lint-free carpets are very popular. This is due to several advantages:

  • Bilateral drawing. As mentioned above, almost all products can be reused - when wearing one of the sides.
  • Low price. Among the lint-free products you can find a product for any wallet - compared to other carpets. However, handmade products or made exclusively from natural materials will be somewhat more expensive.
  • Variety of colors and ornaments, among which you can pick up a carpet that fits perfectly with any interior.
  • Benefit for health. Lack of pile makes this product ideal for rooms where people are prone to allergies.Such coatings do not accumulate static electricity, they have a massage effect. Most often they are woven from natural materials, which makes this coating very warm. The best producers of natural carpets are Iraq, Turkey, China, Tunisia, Belgium.
  • Practicality. It is easy to care for products without lint, it will be possible to maintain cleanliness without any problems, as they are not deformed during washing. • Versatility. This is a portable floor covering that is suitable for any room. There is practically no trace of furniture on a lint-free carpet, so it can always be transferred to a new place.

Among the many advantages of lint-free carpets have disadvantages:

  • They do not attach to the floor. If they are not pressed from above with furniture legs, they will constantly stumble and slide on the floor. They will need to be returned to their place all the time.
  • If the carpet is cotton, it is very sensitive to chemistry. Wash it only with sparing means. In addition, the sun is contraindicated, as it quickly burn out.
  • The thickness of the carpet is minimal. It is not as pleasant to the touch as, for example, a fluffy, soft carpet with a long nap. In addition, it may be cold to sit on such a coating, so for children's rooms it is better to choose other options.

Materials used: how to care?

As mentioned above, lint-free carpets are most often woven from natural materials. They sometimes contain synthetic fibers - for greater strength and durability. Silk, flax, seaweed, bamboo, reed, jute are used from natural materials, but the most common models are cotton, wool or with the addition of synthetics. After buying a lint-free carpet, you should follow several rules for caring for them:

  • Cotton This material is the softest and most pleasant to the touch. It is cotton that is hypoallergenic and does not accumulate static electricity. In appearance, these models look like weaved by hand, which makes the atmosphere in the room more comfortable and homely.

Cotton carpets require very careful care. Aggressive cleaning can permanently damage them. The best option is dry cleaning, cleaning with an ordinary broom. In case of contamination - local cleaning with the use of sparing agents. Carpet chemicals will not work here.

  • Woolen. They last longer than cotton - especially if they are made from goat, sheep or camel wool. They are warmer, absorb noise better and are softer to the touch. You can use not only a broom, but also a vacuum cleaner, and wet cleaning is allowed.

Chemicals should not be used. Woolen products should dry naturally, additional warm drying can lead to deformation.

  • Synthetic - This is the most practical type of carpet. They are distinguished by low price, have dirt-repellent properties, last much longer (compared to other models), and are able to withstand dry cleaning. However, there is an unpleasant feature - the accumulation of static electricity, so you should not use such products in rooms with a large number of electrical appliances.
