Installation of doors on the door

Installation of entrance and interior doors may not always be smooth. The door frame and wall thickness in the room may vary significantly. In this case, you need a special installation dobori on the door. What it is and how to choose and install these components correctly will be discussed in this article.

Special features

Before proceeding to the description of the features of such a procedure as the installation of dobori, it is necessary to become familiar with what it is and what they are generally used for. Finishing is a special plank made of wood or MDF, with which you can level the thickness of the door frame and the wall itself. If this is not done, then there will be a gap between the box and the wall, which over time can lead to the loosening of the door leaf itself. Such a device is attached to the top of the door structure.

The main feature of installation of doors on the door is that it is carried out on the opposite side of the door hinges. This is the only way to make sure that the canvas opens and closes freely. The second feature lies in the fact that even when installing these parts it is necessary to leave a gap of 2 mm between the top of the door itself and its box.

If the doors interfere with the opening of the door, it is necessary to install special substrates on the hinge side, next to the slopes. Before installing them, remove the top layer of plaster.

And one more difficulty lies in the choice of the collectors themselves. It is best to purchase those products that are made of the same material as the door leaf itself and its box.

Inattentive attitude to these features will simply lead to the fact that the wells themselves are quickly erased or broken. The door structure will begin to collapse and deform. It is imperative that after direct installation, you must carefully handle the dobor. This can be done with a protective coating, varnish for furniture or paint of a suitable size.

The installation of the panels themselves, as well as their subsequent finishing, in fact, takes little time. But only under the condition that the type of this product was correctly selected.

It should also be understood that the use of such parts allows not only to equalize the thickness of the box and the walls, but also to decorate the doorway itself beautifully.

Kinds

Today, there are three main types of door liners:

  • Standard or normal It is a common rail, which can be trimmed with veneer, or maybe without it. This is the simplest version of this product, which, if necessary, can be easily and quickly manufactured independently. The standard width of this type is from 100 to 200 mm.
  • Dobor telescopic is an improved version of the previous version. The difference lies in the apparent similarity with clapboard. Each element of this type is assembled like a puzzle, due to the presence, on the one hand, of a special groove, and on the other, a small spike. This design allows you to beautifully arrange the door of any size. The width of the telescopic dobor varies in the range from 90 to 150 mm.
  • Combined dobor got its name not only because it allows to equalize the thickness of the door frame and the wall, but also plays the role of a casing. In appearance, it is a corner with ends for attachment. He himself is directly connected with the door design, namely - the box.

How to choose?

Despite the fact that the varieties of this product is not so much, often the inhabitants have difficulties with choosing the most suitable of its type.

In order not to be disappointed in the purchase and in order to avoid difficulties during the installation process, some nuances should be taken into account:

  • It is necessary to determine the width of the dobor itself. In order for this indicator to be accurate, measurements should be made at several points in the upper part of the door itself, on the right and left sides.
  • The length of the dobor should be slightly larger than the length of the gap itself. Excess centimeters, if necessary, can be removed in a few seconds.
  • If the installation of these parts will be carried out independently, then all the necessary parts, including the parts themselves, should be purchased with a small margin. This is necessary so that in the event of any malfunctions it was possible to immediately perform the installation correctly, and not to quit the job and run again to the store.
  • Dobor should be chosen in the same color range as the box itself and the door leaf.It will be even better if they have not only the same color, but will also be made of similar materials.
  • Choosing the finish for interior doors and steel entrance canvases should adhere to the same recommendations. The choice will be the same, and the installation is slightly different.
  • Dobora is a product that is not worth saving. Not only the general view of the doorway, but also the duration of the quality of the door itself will depend on its quality.

Experienced experts recommends to purchase dobori immediately with the box. To do this, measure the width of the wall itself. Only in case of its thickness less than 80 cm they will be needed.

How to count?

Before you go to the store and choose the appropriate parts, you need to correctly calculate the required number. In order that during the installation of the dobors there is no need to run again for the missing part of them, or, conversely, throw out the remnants, it is necessary to correctly calculate their required amount.

First you need to decide that the height of the door workers comes from the height of the doors. If we talk about the door leafs of a standard size, then their height is 2000 m, in this case the height of the access will be the same. But more attention should be paid to the width of these products, which can vary in the range of 50-500 mm.Their height can also be different.

To avoid an incorrect purchase, the calculation of the required number of supplies and their sizes should be carried out in several stages:

  • It is necessary to make sure that in the box of the future door leaf there is a special groove in which the installation will be installed. This is a very important point, because you should take into account that the component product will be inserted into it, which means it will decrease in size.
  • Armed with a tape measure, you should put it in the place where there is contact with the box. It is necessary to note the resulting distance, it will mark the edge of the wall. It should be remembered that the walls in any rooms are almost never even, so measurements should be taken several times, both from right to left and vice versa. But measure the necessary only at the top.
  • The basis of the size of the future dobor will be the widest distance. In case it is a little wider, it can easily be narrowed to the desired width.

If the measurements were made at the time when the old box was not yet dismantled, in the store, when buying a dobor box, it is necessary to subtract the width of the acquired door structure from the obtained value.

It can be assumed that the width of the pier is 200 mm, and the purchased box has a width of 75 mm.It turns out that the additional board should have a width of 125 mm. It is better to get a dobor with a width of 200 mm, and to cut off anything that is needed during the installation.

Installation

After all the measurements have been made, and the necessary components and tools have been acquired, you can begin to install the dobor yourself. At the same time it is necessary to mount them a little differently, depending on their type of finishing.

Usual

Here, in turn, there is also a slight division. There are holes with a groove, but without it. In each case, there are some nuances.

To begin with, it is necessary to install and fix the door unit with high quality and reliably, and only then proceed directly to the installation:

  • In case the box has a slot for loading, it must be thoroughly cleaned of any internal contaminants and debris, as they may affect the smooth installation of the product.
  • Now the top bar is inserted for a preliminary assessment, and the necessary marks are made, which are then connected to the line. In accordance with the marking board is cut and the side dobor.
  • Now these components are inserted into the groove, aligned and neatly poured with polyurethane foam on top.
  • If the grooves for dobory are missing, they can be attached directly to the bars, which are mounted on the wall. Elements doborov fasten screws to the bars at the same distance. Then the rake is packed, but only from the outside, and the dobor themselves are attached to it.

Perhaps a description of such a procedure is a little incomprehensible, but by starting to use these tips in practice, one can easily be convinced of the opposite.

Telescopic

This procedure does not have any significant differences in implementation. The only thing is that it will be necessary to increase the dobora gradually, and not immediately, as in the first variant. And yet, such a procedure will take more time, because each next bar can be put only after complete drying of the foam in the previous dobor.

The technology of the work will be as follows:

  • Cleansing the groove from internal dirt.
  • The first bar is inserted into the groove for fitting and proper marking is carried out.
  • Carving parts to give them the right size.
  • Now the first finish is inserted into the groove and filled with mounting foam.
  • After the foam dries, you must repeat the fourth step until all the additions have been installed.

Some people in order to save time, pre-connect all of the additional strips among themselves, and then completely mount the shield into the groove. Doing this is not recommended unless you are a professional builder.

Otherwise, gaps will appear between the slats, which will have to be eliminated by reworking the entire work.

Combined

Sheathe the door with the help of such components is the easiest. They do not need to be fixed using mounting foam. All that is needed is to drive the slats into the box's sinuses. But it is necessary to do this starting from the top of the door structure, adjusting the density of the joint on the sides of the joints.

By and large, the installation of such components in practice takes no more than half an hour with the lack of proper skills and no more than 15 minutes with the experience of doing such work already available.

The main thing is to prepare all the necessary materials and tools in advance, as well as carefully follow the instructions.

What to install instead of dobori?

Some people, unfortunately, think that putting the finishing bar is more troublesome than trying to disguise the gap in other ways. Today there are several analogues of this product:

  • Putty or wallpaper. Sometimes it is with their help trying to hide this very gap. 10 years ago - this would be the only way, but today it is not acceptable. First, sooner or later, the gap will still be visible. And secondly, such a design does not look quite aesthetically pleasing and can visually spoil even the most expensive and stylish door.
  • Conventional trimwhich are often installed on plastic windows and doors. But this option is more suitable for the design of street windows. Such a replacement visually spoils the appearance, and also creates the impression of being on the street.
  • Polyurethane foamIt is also often used by some folk craftsmen when masking gaps. But again, it looks unattractive, and the foam itself, or rather its remnants, will also need to be hidden afterwards.
  • Special camouflage platewhich is made of metal and painted with polymer paint in various colors. But when choosing it, it should be borne in mind that it will be almost impossible to independently change its length and height, and not in every case it will be possible to use such a product at all.

On the basis of such a brief description of possible analogs, we can concludethat the use of door pans will be the most aesthetic and reasonable, and only in some cases a decorative strip will be appropriate. But her choice should be approached as responsibly as possible.

In conclusion, I would like to say once again that with the right measurements and the choice of suitable dobor, you can not only eliminate the gap between the door and the wall, but also give a complete, and most importantly, beautiful and complete appearance to the whole structure. If you doubt the correctness of your choice, then you can consult with a professional installer, who will advise these high-quality components and the most suitable for you. Only using a high quality board, one can hope for a high-quality and durable result.
