Features and application of enamel PF-133

 Features and application of enamel PF-133

Modern paintwork materials are quite diverse. To obtain a qualitative result, one should strictly take into account the specifics of each option.

PF-133 enamel is an excellent product, but it should also be used strictly according to the technology provided by the manufacturer.

Special features

GOST 926 82 provides that this enamel, regardless of color, should be a suspension of dyes and fillers in alkyd-based varnish. Organic solvents, dryers, and sometimes other components are added to the mixture.

    The purpose of the use of enamel - decoration of freight transport, with the exception of refrigerated railway cars. It can be used to paint containers, wood and metal surfaces, but it is not applicable to agricultural machinery of any kind.

    Product specifications are quite decent. Two layers of enamel (if they cover the pre-primed surface) will be a reliable protection for 36 months in a temperate climate.

    The application of the composition is possible:

    • pneumatic spraying;
    • spraying in an electromagnetic field;
    • spraying in a vacuum;
    • bathing the product in the mixture;
    • douche;
    • with a brush.

    Preparation for work

    When using PF-133 enamel in any area, it is necessary to stir it and bring it to the target viscosity using:

    • solvent;
    • xylene;
    • nephras;
    • special diluents (for subsequent painting in electromagnetic fields).

    According to the standards for enamel PF-133, its density is 1100 - 1200 g per 1 sq. Km. The established requirements provide for a maximum dilution of up to 30%.

    The duration of drying up to level 3 at a temperature of 20 degrees is from 1.5 to 30 hours.

    The difference is determined by the unequal chemical composition of the enamel of different colors. It is important to remember that the product is toxic and creates a significant fire hazard.

    Safety regulations

    PF-133, as well as diluents and solvents used with it, can cause skin irritation and the appearance of eczema. It is necessary to fear the destructive effects of the composition on the blood, mucous membranes and respiratory tract, as well as on the nervous system. Experienced painters prepare for work individual respiratory protection and wear rubber gloves. In case of contact of the enamel with the skin, it is immediately washed off with warm soapy water..

    Pentaphthalic enamel, regardless of dilution and ambient temperature, is flammable.

    Do not work with it near an open flame and heating devices. To avoid danger, it is necessary to provide full ventilation in the room with inflows and outflows and take care of the availability of fire protection equipment.

    Industrial facilities and construction sites rely on continuous monitoring of air quality.

    Practical properties and use

    The composition adheres well to metal, the coating shines and turns out very hard. The product perfectly tolerates negative atmospheric phenomena, temperature and -40, and +60 degrees. PF-133, in contrast to the more familiar PF-115, can "survive" chamber drying. No effort during air drying can give a comparable strength and stability of the film.

    The composition does not form smudges and wrinkles, it is immediately applied with a perfectly smooth layer. Drying time ranges from 24 to 48 hours, it is determined by the number of layers and temperature. Contact with water for 10 hours (at room temperature and immobility of the liquid) does not lead to negative consequences.

    Preliminary preparation implies priming with mixtures of PF, EF and GF. Use of their full chemical analogs is also allowed. The tree should be thoroughly cleaned of any dust and dirt. The best option - processing with emery. PF-133 staining on top of broken or poorly adhering previous coating is not allowed..

    So that the material is better fixed on the tree, and the consumption of 1 m² was minimal, experts advise to infiltrate the base with linseed oil. Before use, pentaphthalic enamel is recommended to be stored in the original packaging at a temperature of 20 degrees for at least 24 hours.

    Dilution of the enamel itself with a combination of xylene with white spirit up to 70% is allowed. The share of white spirit in the diluting composition may not exceed 50%. Recommended working air temperature - from +5 to + 30 degrees, relative humidity - maximum 80%.

    To prevent water vapor from condensing, the surface must be 3 degrees (or more) warmer than the dew point. The cleaning of the used tool is made by solvent, white spirit.

    1 liter of PF-133 can cover 19.5 - 26 square meters. m. surface. This indicator is influenced by the smoothness or degree of roughness of the substrate, working temperature, dilution, professionalism when applied, the geometry of the coated product. If there is chalk or lime paint at the bottom, the composition should be removed completely., regardless of its safety and sustainability. When drying chamber temperature can reach 82 degrees, this reduces the processing period to 120 minutes.

    PF-133 should be stored in a dark, dry room, excluding exposure to wind and direct sunlight. The minimum allowable temperature is -20 degrees. Subject to standard conditions enamel stored 12 months. When the warranty period ends, only special laboratory tests allow us to recognize it as suitable for use.

    When buying paintwork materials, it is important to study certificates of conformity on the practical characteristics and hygienic properties of the product.
