It was then that the company Tarkett AB was opened in Sweden, producing parquet from wood waste from the production of wheels for wooden carts.Parquet in its modern sense was developed by Tarkett designers only in the forties of the last century. According to reviews of both ordinary consumers and professionals in the field of repair and finishing works, the products of this brand deserve respect as an example of quality, reliability and manufacturability.Tarkett company constantly improves its products, making it even safer, resistant to wear and easy to install and maintain. She was one of the very first to introduce heat treatment of materials in her productions, and in order to make the finished product more durable and moisture-resistant, they began to glue the main layer of the parquet from all sides. In the production of wood flooring Tarkett uses a special lacquer coating, which increases the resistance of parquet to abrasion.

Materials

Tarkett floorboard has a three-layer structure:

  • The lower stabilizing layer ensures the stability of the structure and the stability of its size. It is made of special plywood from coniferous wood, resistant to moisture.
  • The basis of softwood. The base fibers are arranged perpendicular to the fibers of the lower and upper layers, which ensures the stability of the entire floor covering design.
  • The top layer is an array of valuable tree species that are heat treated or tinted. On top of this layer is varnished (matte, glossy or supergloss).

For the manufacture of its products, the company uses the following wood species:

  • Oak - Used most often due to its ideal qualities. He is handsome and durable and hard. Just what you need for a good flooring. It has a wide range of textures and shades, which depend on which part of the tree is chosen for processing and how it is processed. The texture of an oak board can be more or less uniform over the whole plane of the board, and it can be a mixture of dark and light shades.
  • Red oak tree has a more interesting appearance that allows you to make more decorative parquet boards from it. This type of wood has a red-brown or pinkish tint with a slightly pronounced woody pattern. According to its strength characteristics, red oak stands in the same line with ordinary oak.
  • Beech - very resistant to wear material. Beech trees live more than four hundred years. Products from them have an elegant structure, especially if the technology of artificial aging is applied to them.
  • Ash - the most suitable wood for the floorboard. Its elastic, but at the same time solid structure makes the flooring particularly durable. Ash gives in well to heat treatment, as a result of which it darkens slightly and acquires a more pronounced pattern. Floors with a top coating of this type of wood allow you to make the interior a special comfort and good mood.
  • African mahogany - exotic wood, which has a bright pattern with a wavy structure in the section, the natural lines of the pattern become reddish when polished.
  • Merbau - wood of red-brown shades with an exquisite pattern with streaks of mineral salts. Requires a special interior frame. Merbau wood has a special strength, so it is very practical, and at the same time capable of filling the room with unique luxury.
  • Nut gives the floor covering chocolate shades. This type of wood is harvested in North America. The walnut parquet is able to fill the atmosphere of the house with special energy and give strength to its inhabitants.
  • Kempas - wood with bright colors and light fiber pattern. At the same time it has a high density, and, therefore, has higher strength characteristics.
  • Jatoba - has a cut brownish shades with dark veins. After polishing the board from this wood gets special luster.
  • Wenge - wood with dark chocolate color. Under the influence of light it becomes even darker. Sometimes it may look like an almost ebony. This coating is well suited for contrasting interiors.
  • Msasa - This type of wood from Central Africa is used for the production of floors only by Tarkett. This is hardwood, like tick. The colors of the flooring of this tree - from honey with a golden sheen to light brown.
  • Acacia - has soft colors with expressive pattern. Basic shades in brownish and greenish-brown tones. After processing, acacia wood becomes even more expressive and looks very elegant.
  • Cherry - quite popular and often used material for flooring. Wood has an interesting structure in brownish-pink shades. Over time, cherry flooring becomes more saturated and brings an atmosphere of warmth and comfort to the room.

In the production process, the parquet board is subjected to drying, due to which high levels of product strength are achieved in various operating conditions. The top layer of the parquet is treated with a glossy or matte water-based varnish in seven layers. It is attached to the surface with ultraviolet rays.

Such processing is necessary to make the coating more wear-resistant and restorable (as necessary, you can perform the polishing of the floorboard, followed by the application of special formulations). Lacquer coating can also be replaced with oil, which allows you to make parquet resistant to dirt and moisture.

Each type of Tarkette floorboard is easy to install. Installation rules, see the following video.

  • To remove dust and various types of debris from the surface of the parquet, which can lead to scratching, you must regularly vacuum the floor.
  • In order to maintain the parquet flooring in proper form, the manufacturer advises to apply a specially developed care product for this.
  • If accidentally any liquid was spilled on the floor, it should be immediately removed with a cloth.

The manufacturer does not recommend:

  • Walking on the floorboard in heels or in shoes with a damaged sole, as well as in certain types of sports shoes.
  • Install pots of flowers on the floor to avoid the formation of excess moisture.
  • Clean the floor with a wet rag.
  • Use rugs on any dense basis, including rubber, as this leads to excessive accumulation of moisture and dirt.
  • Pour the floorboard cleaner directly onto the floor covering.
  • Use of wax for floors, abrasive and oil detergents.
  • In the presence of a heated floor to set its temperature above 27 degrees, as well as to allow a sharp temperature drop (on the day the difference should be no more than 2.8 degrees).

If you comply with all Tarkett recommendations for the care of parquet, then he is able to serve his masters for quite a long time.
