Many choose a warm floor: its advantages justify all efforts and costs. It is pleasant to walk on such a surface; it is an ideal option when there are children in the house. Parents do not have to worry when kids run and play on the warm floor. However, sometimes there is a need for repair. It is quite possible to cope with such work without the involvement of specialists; you should only consider certain recommendations.

The presence of a heated floor in the apartment ensures uniform heating. This floor helps to ensure that the humidity level in the room is ideal for people there. Sometimes it provides a full-fledged space heating (usually it is typical for private houses).There are several types of warm floors. Repair systems related to certain types have their own distinctive features.

There are the following types of floor heating.

This floor can work, thanks to the centralized or autonomous system of heating. The raw materials of which the pipes are made (they are in the ceiling tie) are different: they are stainless steel, polybutane, metal-plastic, copper, and cross-linked polyethylene. All materials are durable, resistant to corrosion. In such systems are also used distribution manifolds, mixing nodes. Collectors are designed for distribution of hot water. Thanks to the nodes, the fluid enters the system and circulates.

This is a fairly thin polymer film, in which there are silver-carbonic conductors. Such a system heats objects in the room. Humidity in the room remains natural, the heat is distributed as smoothly as possible. A special marking is applied to the surface of the film. Such materials can be easily cut. Such systems are easy to install, they can be connected without any problems.

This floor can be rod, film, cable. However, the device of the system is in any case the same: a temperature controller, a temperature sensor, an element that heats the surface. You can buy single-core or double-core heated electric floor - the systems differ in the number of thermal conductors. The floor must be connected to the electrical network. When the temperature is optimal, the power will be turned off. When cooling the surface, it will resume. The required temperature is set on the scale of the thermostat (the system will maintain it).

There are liquid electric floors that combine the features of the systems listed above. The surface is heated by means of a pipe in which there is an antifreeze coolant, as well as a heating cable. The material of manufacture is structured polyethylene. The coolant is static, it does not move, so these systems can work without pumps, boilers, collectors.

Among the main problems that arise with such systems, we can distinguish problems with the circulation pump, contamination in the filter, and leakage of coolant. The case may be in the admission of errors in the implementation of installation work, breakage, the occurrence of cracks. Sometimes you have to think about what to do if a pipe is broken.

First find the place where the floor is cold. If the surface is cold in all rooms, it is possible that the filter is clogged, there are problems with the boiler, pump, or too little water.If such a problem arose exclusively in one place, pay attention to the collector and coil. You can try to add fluid to the system and check the drainage tube (water should flow from it). So you check the level of coolant. In 20% of cases after that the system starts working better.

If you think the problem is in the filter, unscrew it and check if the cartridge is dirty. Due to contamination, the liquid can flow poorly through the heating tube. If you want to check the circulation pump, start it and listen to how it works. At first it will be necessary to let the air out of the system. If the pump works well, there will be no extraneous sounds (knocks, vibrations).

If you suspect a leak, try to determine exactly where it occurred. Add fluid to the system, turn on the pump for two hours. If there is no leakage, water will quickly appear in the drainage pipe. Otherwise, you will need to carry out a crimping system, all circuits, then you can find the place where the problem occurred. Such problems can be dealt with only by special equipment.

If fluid leaks from the clutch, replace it. In cases where the leakage occurs in the coil, it is necessary to replace the entire system in the room. When unfiltered water enters the heating system, the pipes become contaminated. In such situations, they have to be washed.

Heating elements of such a floor are made of graphite. If a problem occurs with one of the elements, it is not necessary to change the entire heating tape. In cases where the floor ceases to be warm in one of the rooms, it is necessary to determine the strength of the current. If this indicator is significantly different from the optimal value, it means that not one element has failed, but several. In this case, a regulator can be used to raise the surface temperature. If necessary, the tape will need to be replaced.

To repair an electric floor heating, you need to understand electrical engineering (at least at a basic level). Problems with these systems arise from short circuits, problems with the sensor, thermostat, contact burns. In some cases, break the elements that heat the floor wires.If the floor gets cold, check the sensor, control unit.

The wires are connected to the terminals: determine the voltage on them using a voltmeter. Then do the same in the next room. In the event that the voltages are very different from each other (more than 10 volts), this will be a sign of poor contact. If the contact between the wires and the terminals is defective, the ends of the wires will need to be trimmed. Then reattach them using screws.

The current strength should not differ from the value available on the regulator's data sheet. If the figure is reduced, you will need to repair this device in the workshop. The strength of the current may decrease when the heating elements break or burn out. The wire is suitable for the heating element in such a system. If there is no current at all, it means that it broke off. Too much current may be due to a short circuit. Such a problem may occur if errors were made during the installation work (another possible reason is increased air humidity).

If you want the floor to last as long as possible, you need to take into account several recommendations:

• Before purchasing a heated floor, determine the optimal size of the heating element. If you cut the cable during installation, the system may fail. When deciding which size will be most suitable, you need to focus on the area of ​​the room on which there is no furniture. If the system will be under heavy objects, it is quite possible that as a result it will overheat.
• To make it easier to cope with the installation work, draw a floor plan. It will make it easier to navigate the location of pipes or wires.
• There should be no voids near the element that provides heating: make sure that they are missing. Otherwise the cable may overheat.

• Position the temperature sensor so that, if necessary, you can easily get to it.
• You should not go to those places where there are elements of the system in the process of installation work.
• Well clean the surface on which will be heating cable.
• Documents that indicate the electrical resistance are attached to the warm floor.The resulting value should not differ from this indicator.
